Starting and using Messages
Learn about contact requests, replies, editing, media, voice notes, and early-contact safeguards.
Starting a conversation
A new conversation begins as a request that the recipient can accept or decline. Contact preferences, blocks, and platform safety rules are checked by the server.
Writing and editing
Messages support replies, reactions, images, voice notes, and editing. The previous versions of edited messages remain available to the participants and moderation team. You can choose whether Return sends or inserts a paragraph.
Early-contact safeguards
Links, images, and audio are unavailable during the first messages of a new conversation. This boundary helps prevent spam and unsafe off-platform pressure.
